Fight Off Diseases With A Boost To Your Immune System
Steps that could help fight off diseases with a boost to your immune system.
Do you find the same old ailments returning as if they were on a timer?
Do you find yourself feeling sick more than you should be?
Or maybe you’re constantly tired, lethargic, irritable, or short tempered.
We go through life putting up with most of these ailments but did you know that this is probably and indication that your body’s pH/acid level is too high?
Your body’s acidity is not a new term or condition!
The subject of your body pH balance and its acidity is not new by any means.
As far back as 1933 a New York doctor named William Howard Hay published a book called ‘A New Health Era‘ in which he maintained that…..
“All disease is caused by auto-toxication or “self-poisoning” due to an accumulation of excess acid in the body”.
‘Alkalize or Die’ is another well known publication in which Theodore A. Baroody discusses the implications of an over acidic body…
“The countless names of illnesses do not really matter. What does matter is that they all come from the same root cause, ‘too much tissue acid waste in the body”! Theodore A. Baroody, N.D., D.C., pH.D.
Extensive scientific research has indicated healthy people have consistent alkaline levels.
Acidosis or Alkalosis?
The human body comprises of 70{7b225fbeff640dd30b4b8b66650188099c7e8b184e2fb5b5b9f806a74d59162d} water and in its attempt to balance positive ions (acidic) and negative ions (alkaline) is compromised by poor diet and lack of exercise thus creating problems that may go unnoticed for years.
In general when our body acid level is averaging high peaks than low, then this can have an adverse affect on our health and immune system.
If it’s consistently high, then this can lead to a condition known as Acidosis which can be a serious and life threatening condition.
A consistently high body pH level of 7.5+ can also help bring about many other serious and degenerative illnesses, such as Cancer.
Even premature aging can be directly related to a constantly acidic body!
pH (potential hydrogen) is measured on a scale of 0 to 14 and ideally a pH level of between 7.0 – 7.4 is the ideal target to consistently attain.
It’s been well documented that ‘western diets’ are far too high in acid-producing animal products like meat, eggs, and dairy products.
Conversely our diets are far too low in alkaline-producing foods like fresh vegetables. We consume too many acid-producing processed foods like white flour, sugar, coffee, soft drinks and artificial sweeteners.
Even some of the drugs we use are acid forming!
Populations are becoming increasingly acidic in epidemic proportions.
High acidity forces the body to borrow minerals such as calcium, sodium, potassium, and magnesium-from organs and bones to neutralize the acid and remove it from the body.
If the process is impaired in any way the body can suffer severe and prolonged damage due to high acidity, a condition that may go undetected for years!
How can I improve my pH Balance?
Scientist believe that maintaining a consistent pH level is extremely important in order to have a disease free body and that diet and exercise play an important role in maintaining the balance.
A good pH balance is sustained by ensuring our body has sufficient potassium, sodium, magnesium and calcium.
What are the consequences of an over acid body?
An over acidic body can negatively impact the health of all your body’s functions such as circulatory, digestive, endocrine, immune, lympHatic, muscular, nervous, reproductive, respiratory, skeletal, and urinary.
This can lead to various illnesses and in some cases, chronic disease.
- Common problems that can arise are:
- Recurring Cold and Flu Symptoms.
- Muscle and Joint Pain (Lactic Acid)
- Weight Gain
- Lethargy
- Constipation
- Acid Reflux
- Gout
- Heartburn
- Headaches
- Poor Digestion
- Thrush/Candida Fungal Infections.
These are just a few examples of minor ailments a person might experience from an over acidic body.
Did you know that the cellular structure of your body comprises of 700+ trillion cells?
Our bodies cannot remain efficient when our cellular structure is awash in acidic water and our cells will become less efficient in the process of absorbing required nutrients. In this situation, cells can quite easily become starved of oxygen allowing cancer and other diseases to develop.
More serious complaints are:
- Cardiovascular damage, including the constriction of blood vessels resulting in poor circulation.
- Diabetes.
- Bladder and Kidney conditions.
- Depression.
- Cancer.
- Premature Aging.
- Osteoporosis.
- Obesity.
- Chronic Fatigue.
- Immune Deficiency.
- Hormone Problems.
- Gall and Kidney Stones.
- Tumours.
- Acidosis
Again, just a few examples resulting from over-acidity for prolonged periods.
Did You Know?……….. “Degenerative diseases such as Cancer cannot survive in an alkaline environment of pH 7.4” Example Diseases.
Obesity.
A constantly over acidic body contributes to the destruction of cells and can make you fat.
When cells detect this threat is apparent, your body coats your cells with fatty deposits in its attempt to protect itself from rising acidity making you need more fat.
Diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes is created by obesity, poor nutrition, high stress and the lack of pHysical inactivity.
All of these conditions are related to high acidity. Our over-acid lifestyles and food choices negatively impact our health, which is shown by the rapid increase of diabetes across the globe.
Obesity is not the cause of diabetes.
Diabetes is brought about by our increased consumption of complex carbohydrates and simple sugars and lack of exercise.
Osteoporosis.
Bone density is affected by an over acidic body. When the body uses the calcium in your bones to combat the over acidity, your bone density is gradually weakened making you more susceptible to osteoporosis.
So why all the interest around pH balance, acidosis, diet and exercise?
You’ve probably gathered by now that it has been proven conclusively that most of our aches, pains, illnesses, diseases are all directly related to the levels of acidity in our body.
A major contributory factor in becoming acidic is that there are never enough hours in the day to take “time out” to eat a well balanced meal and take regular exercise.
This is substantiated by the increased cases of diabetes and obesity over the past decade, indicative of our poorly controlled eating habits.
Why is exercise so important?
Well the lungs are the major player here! By exerting the body and thereby increasing your lung capacity and intake you are flushing out acid every time you exhale carbon dioxide (CO2) which can lower you acidic levels literally within minutes.
The kidneys though, are another matter excreting acids through urine, but this process of excretion takes days, unlike the lungs which as already mentioned, can take minutes even seconds.
Why is diet important?
Simply put, there are alkaline foods and there are acidic foods.
So, by maintaining a healthy balanced diet of non acidic foods we ensure our pH balance remains constant.
Monitoring your pH levels?
Depending on how seriously you are about your health and well-being, monitoring your pH balance will determine what steps to take to should your body be too acidic.
One very simple way is to test your urine as soon as you awake which is generally accepted as the most accurate simply because no food has been eaten and therefore cannot influence any testing.
This is done by using pH strips with which you would sample with.
So what is the solution to controlling our body’s acidity levels?
We can control our pH levels in 2 ways:
1…Take regular exercise but be consistent.
Try a walk after lunch instead of hanging about in the office or a stroll after an evening meal.
Make subtle changes but remain consistent.
2…Consider changing or replacing some of the foods you eat with the following:
(here are just a few suggestions but the list is by no means exhausted).
Vegetables: Asparagus, Beetroot, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Fermented vegetables, Garlic, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Onions, Parsnips, Peppers, Pumpkin, Turnip, Peas, Spinach, Sweet Potatoes, Watercress, Wild Greens.
Fruits: All Berries, Apples, Apricots, Avocado, Bananas, Cantaloupe, Cherries, Currants, Dates, Figs, Grapefruit, Grapes, Kiwi, Lemons, Limes, Mango, Melons, Nectarines, Oranges, Papaya, Peaches, Pears, Pineapples, Raisins, Tangerines, Tomatoes, Watermelon.
Proteins: Almonds, Chestnuts, Cottage Cheese, Eggs, Flax Seeds, Hemp Seed, Millet, Pumpkin Seeds, Sprouted Seeds, Squash Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Yogurt.
You will also need to research the acidifying foods as a precaution and should balance you meals at a ratio of around about 70 – 75{7b225fbeff640dd30b4b8b66650188099c7e8b184e2fb5b5b9f806a74d59162d} Alkalising and 25 – 30{7b225fbeff640dd30b4b8b66650188099c7e8b184e2fb5b5b9f806a74d59162d} Acidifying in order to boost your immune system.
Take a look at the various food charts readily available to determine what foods and drinks are best for your lifestyle.
On A Final Note!
If all this ‘change’ is just too much, then consider natural proprietary supplements which are available which will help you control your pH levels in order to become less acidic, and fight off disease with a boost to your immune system.
