Have You Exercised Your Mind?

If you want to be successful, the quality of your mind plays an important role. If it’s good, you can create useful things for other people. You can solve pressing problems and give working solutions. You can make new innovations and inventions.

But you must take action to achieve that. You can’t just sit and expect to have a sharp mind. You need to exercise your brain.

Why is that the case? Because your brain is like a muscle. The more you train it, the stronger it becomes. On the other hand, the less you train it, the weaker it becomes. It’s your responsibility to do things that improve the quality of your mind.

Fortunately, there are many ways to do that. One of them is by playing mind games. These are games that can stimulate your brain. They train your ability to solve problems. They train you to assess a situation and draw the right conclusions.

One popular game is Sudoku. It’s a simple game but it gives your brain the exercise it needs. In Sudoku, what you need to do is arranging numbers in such a way that all numbers (from 0 to 9) are used exactly once vertically and horizontally. The rule of Sudoku is simple, but solving a Sudoku puzzle isn’t as easy as it sounds. In many cases, you need to think hard before you can solve a puzzle.

One other game you can play is chess. Chess is perhaps the most popular mind game today. It has a long tradition and has thousands of professional players around the world. Playing chess requires you to think about the strategy you are going to use. You need to also anticipate your opponent’s moves. These are all good exercise for you.
