Multivitamin and Mineral Supplements With Standardized Plant Nutrients – A Blessing at Chernobyl

Have you noticed how most of the supplements on the market are synthetic? There are risks associated with taking a synthetic supplement. In fact, in 2007, a big study was conducted that showed an increased risk of death with synthetic and not whole food supplements.

There are 3 major pharmaceutical companies that supply the synthetic components (vitamins and minerals) that go into the making of the majority of nutritional supplements found on the market. This was a rude awakening for me and I’ll bet it is for you as well!

There are a handful of companies that have whole food vitamins and plant sourced minerals. I’m not talking about a company that adds a few token plant extracts to their synthetic supplement and says yeah we have whole foods in our supplement too! I’m talking about 100{7b225fbeff640dd30b4b8b66650188099c7e8b184e2fb5b5b9f806a74d59162d} whole food vitamins and minerals. There is a very easy way to identify whole food vs. synthetics. More on that later.

Now, there is a problem with standardizing plant sourced minerals.

Usually plants do not provide high mineral concentrations per gram of dried plant material compared to the RDA of a given mineral. This means that in order to have enough minerals to match the RDA of any mineral, the tablets would have to be huge or you would have to swallow bunches of capsules or tablets.

That is, until the disaster at Chernobyl. As you can imagine, the soil in the area of the nuclear disaster was highly contaminated with radioactive waste. In the process of looking for ways to clean up the soil around Chernobyl, scientists discovered a plant, Brassica juncea (Indian mustard sprouts), which can hyperaccumulate soil trace elements.

For the first time, through a patented technology, it is now possible to hyper-accumulate mineral concentrations into a supplement.

So the benefits of this discovery are 2 fold:

  1. you get truly standardized plant minerals, which means you absorb most of what is in the tablet. No more flushing your hard-earned cash down the toilet
  2. it is now possible to standardize plant-sourced minerals. This is truly a cutting edge technology and only one company owns this technology.
